Dark Chocolate Ganache
Ganache is my go-to topping for chocolate cakes and baked goods. I use it for both work and personal desserts. Because it is simple, elegant, and delicious, I love using it. I would cover the world in it if I could.
The main ingredient for a basic ganache is chocolate. Since I’ve generally used semi-sweet chocolate in my recipes, I knew that I needed to make it keto friendly. The easy-peasy solution I found is to use Lily’s dark chocolate. Order it online or pick up in your local health food store.

Simple to make and versatile, ganache may become your favorite, too. Frost German Chocolate Cake, brownies, and more. It makes a luscious warm fondue for dipping fruit. Craving chocolate covered bacon? Pour some on it! Having many uses is why it is KetoLuxe.
This German Chocolate Cake is made with Chef Alexa’s keto friendly Dark Chocolate Ganache.
Less than 5 minutes
1 cup heavy whipping cream
12 ounces Lily’s dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- In a medium sauce pan, add cream. Bring to a simmer over low heat.
- Remove sauce pan from heat.
- Add in chocolate and let sit for 1 minute. Do not stir.
- Whisk until thick and glossy.
- Whisk in vanilla extract until combined.
Bourbon makes a fun addition to this frosting. Swap it for the vanilla extract.
