Ganache is my go-to topping for chocolate cakes and baked goods. I use it for both work and personal desserts. Because it is simple, elegant, and delicious, I love using it. I would cover the world in it if I could.
The main ingredient for a basic ganache is chocolate. Since I’ve generally used semi-sweet chocolate in my recipes, I knew that I needed to make it keto friendly. The easy-peasy solution I found is to use Lily’s dark chocolate. Order it online or pick up in your local health food store.

Less than 5 minutes
1 cup heavy whipping cream
12 ounces Lily’s dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- In a medium sauce pan, add cream. Bring to a simmer over low heat.
- Remove sauce pan from heat.
- Add in chocolate and let sit for 1 minute. Do not stir.
- Whisk until thick and glossy.
- Whisk in vanilla extract until combined.
Bourbon makes a fun addition to this frosting. Swap it for the vanilla extract.
