I created my Keto Candied Bacon Roses as a way to fancy up bacon.

Candied Bacon Roses

DESCRIPTION
If April showers bring May flowers, what makes bacon? Candied Bacon Roses are inspired by the blooms bursting forth with spring. For my Artisan Foodworks catering customers, Candied Bacon on a Stick stars at many wedding receptions and soirees. I’ve made so much of it that I’ve lost count!

Eating keto at my house means a lot of bacon. Sam and I have it at least once a week because it packs a punch of fat. Now that we eat so much of it, I’ve started becoming creative with my preparations. Candied Bacon Roses came about when I wanted to treat my sweetie with something extra special. This sugar free, gluten free, low carb recipe did it!

Chef Alexa places each rose into a muffin tin hole to keep upright during baking.

Make Candied Bacon Roses anytime you want to “fancy up” a meal. I enjoy garnishing Crack Chicken with it (recipe tomorrow). Sam likes it with brunch eggs. This can even be made in advance for meal prep. Using my KetoLuxe Candied Everything Seasoning cuts down on the time needed to prepare it.

INGREDIENTS
1 pound (12 slices) bacon
4 ounces KetoLuxe Candied Everything Seasoning

DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat oven to 300°F.
  • Lay out bacon strips in a single layer.
  • Rub each down with an equal amount of KetoLuxe Candied Everything Seasoning.
  • Roll each piece like a rose, making sure the candied part is inside.
  • In a mini muffin pan, set a rose in each hole, edge up.
  • Bake for 25 minutes or until crispy.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.

NOTES
If you want to make these into long-stem roses, put the cooked roses onto plastic rose stems.

Sam likes to add the KetoLuxe Candied Everything Seasoning in the last 10 minutes of cooking. She sprinkles it on top (using about a quarter of the amount indicated) for a less sweet taste.

Store these at room temperature for a couple of days.
