DESCRIPTION
I grew up in a barbecue family. We’ve made a lot barbecue over the years: sauces, rubs, meats, and pretty much everything to go with barbecue. I’ve discovered that my favorite sauces are ones with a lot of tang and a little sweetness. Carolina Gold Barbecue Sauce comes to mind as one of the best ones. I love it on pork and chicken.

When I started to eat keto, barbecue sauces were out the window. Too much sugar! That’s why I created my KetoLuxe Carolina Barbecue Sauce. It is sugar free and a perfect complement to smoked or grilled meats.

This sauce is perfect for pig pickin’. For the upcoming #ColumbusINKeto Potluck Picnic, I’ll be serving this KetoLuxe Carolina Barbecue Sauce on the side for the whole hog and Maple Leaf Farms duck halves. You can make one, too. Or you can slather it on roasted pork loin, grilled chicken, or shrimp. The only thing I don’t use it on is beef, because I don’t find that it works with the flavor.

INGREDIENTS
1 cup yellow mustard
½ cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup KetoLuxe Allulose
1 cup fiber syrup
2 teaspoons Worcestershire Seasoning
2 teaspoons KetoLuxe Hot Sauce
½ teaspoon black pepper

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together yellow mustard and cider vinegar.
  2. Stir in all other ingredients.
  3. Over medium heat, stirring constantly, bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and let simmer for 40 minutes or until thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  5. Use immediately or let cool and store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
