RECIPES

  • KETO TRUFFLE "CAVIAR" CANAPE

Usually, people think of canapes as bites on bread. Since I’ve started eating keto, my definition has expanded to include cucumbers and sausages as perfect bases. My Truffle “Caviar” Canape uses crisped sausage as the stage for cheese and truffle “caviar.” Deliciously gluten free, sugar free, and low carb, these appetizers don’t need bread.
  • KETO LEMON HERB RICED CAULIFLOWER

However, I’m not one of those people to be satisfied with a pale substitution. That’s one of the reasons I’ve held off on sharing a cauliflower rice recipe. Cauliflower is neither rice nor potatoes. Cauliflower deserves to be recognized for its own merits: high in vitamins, low in carbs, sugar free, gluten free, full of fiber, and versatile. My Lemon Herb Riced Cauliflower recipe is a side dish that doesn’t pretend to be something else because it doesn’t need to.
  • KETO CANDIED PORK RINDS

When I discovered KetoLuxe Microwave Pork Rinds, I knew I had struck gold. No more settling for room-temperature puffs that were half crushed from being in the back of the car. I pop some of these babies and douse them in Candied Everything Seasoning for that salty sweet kettle taste.
  • KETO DEVILED EGGS

When we started eating keto, Sam hoped that she would never lay eyes on another Deviled Egg. The joke was on her! Ha. Ha. Ha. These babies are sugar free, gluten free, and low carb. The perfect food!
  • KETO RACK OF LAMB

Because it is so easy to prepare, I made a keto version of Rack of Lamb as soon as we started this way of eating. Even better, the change to almond flour from bread crumbs to make the crust was simple and tasty. Sugar free, gluten free, and low carb, this recipe is once again one of the most popular dishes in my home.
  • KETO FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE

When I first started thinking of keto desserts, I knew that Flourless Chocolate Cake would be a natural fit. The recipe was already gluten free. With a few tweaks, including substituting KetoLuxe Allulose and Gourmet Sugar Free Chocolate Chips for the traditional ingredients, I created what is quite possibly my favorite recipe. Sugar free and low carb, garnish this dessert with berries and Vanilla Whipped Cream for extra fanciness.
  • KETO DARK CHOCOLATE GANACHE

The main ingredient for a basic ganache is chocolate. Since I’ve generally used semi-sweet chocolate in my recipes, I knew that I could make it keto friendly. Luckily, I have my KetoLuxe Gourmet Sugar Free Chocolate Chips that are also soy free and gluten free. That’s why I’m especially proud of my Dark Chocolate Ganache Recipe.
  • KETO KENTUCKY BOURBON BALLS

A couple of weeks ago, though, KetoLuxe participated in a sales expo in Louisville, Kentucky. This inspired Cindy and me to make a sugar free, gluten free, low carb Kentucky Bourbon Ball. We use the KetoLuxe Gourmet Sugar Free Chocolate Chips for dipping and Powdered Erythritol to replace the sugar. They have been a big hit, selling out quickly (sorry to the people who came back to buy more and found them gone). Not long after that, we used Jack Daniels to make a Tennessee version (again, sorry to those of you who wanted more from the Nashville Southern Women’s Show). Even people who don’t eat sugar free or keto clamored for more!
  • KETO SALTED BUTTER

Butter is one of those things that can’t be replicated. When I think about butter, I feel happy. Salted Butter is the ultimate comfort food/condiment. Luckily, the recipe is already keto. Making butter is a worthwhile activity for when you want your meal to be extra special. One of the coolest things about it is that this is a good way to connect with food. Experiencing the craft of it creates a sense of accomplishment that carries over into the enjoyment of food containing real butter. That’s KetoLuxe.
  • KETO PRALINES AND CREAM ICE CREAM

Eating keto means eschewing artificial flavors and refined sugars. Did that mean I would have to forgo Pralines and Cream Ice Cream for my birthday? Heck no! That’s right. I created my own sugar free, gluten free, low carb ice cream recipe to celebrate. Finally, even the Mother approved of my birthday dessert. She insisted upon finishing up the lone scoop (Sam was barely able to take any pictures before it was snatched away and gobbled up). I must admit, as an adult, I prefer the grown-up flavors of this. However, piece of my heart will always be held by the bunny cakes my Granny Z picked up for me. This is the best of both worlds.
  • KETO BAK KWA

My keto recipe for Bak Kwa is sugar free, gluten free, and low carb. This is a big difference from the original style of making it because sweet is the predominant flavor of this dish. I had to experiment with several combinations before being satisfied that I had achieved perfection. Since horsemeat is hard to come by in the US (and disturbing to many people), I substitute pork for it.
  • KETO HALLOUMI WITH RELISH

Before we ate keto, there was a lot of cheese in our lives. Now, there’s even more! Much of the cheese we ate for a meal had breading and or bread, because I didn’t appreciate the nuances of flavor as much as I do now. Now, we focus on recipes that are gluten free, sugar free, and low carb. This recipe for Halloumi with Relish is new to our repertoire because it fits in with our way of eating. Before, I wouldn’t have appreciated the cheese by itself. Eating keto opened up my eyes to cheese as a stand-alone flavor profile.
